Nollywood returned to the Toronto International  Film Festival with EbonyLife Films' romantic comedy, "The Royal Hibiscus Hotel."

The Special Guest of Honour for the premiere was Mr Foli Coker, DG – Nigerian Development Tourism Commission.

A romantic comedy from EbonyLife Films, the movie is directed by Ishaya Bako, who directed the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award winning film, "Road to Yesterday."

"The Royal Hibiscus Hotel" stars Zainab Balogun, Deyemi Okanlawon, Kenneth Okolie, Akah Nnani, Kemi Lala Akindoju among others.

In the romantic comedy, a disillusioned London chef visits Nigeria and struggles with her matchmaking mother and restoring the family's rundown hotel.

She's heartbroken when she discovers the man she loves is buying it.

The movie is the second EbonyLife film to have its world premiere at TIFF.

In 2016, "The Wedding Party," - a collaboration between EbonyLife Films, FilmOne Distribution, Koga and Inkbot - was among the eight Nollywood films selected to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of its City to City programme.

A Nigerian release date hasn't been announced for the movie, "The Royal Hibiscus Hotel."
