Pulse Blogger: What is going on in your baby's diaper?

Clean baby,happy baby.

Some moms don’t know what to keep in mind while changing diapers for their babies.

It is a mom blog post for all the moms both new and experienced ones. Today, I would like to share some tips on diaper change. I know you would be wondering why diaper change, who doesn't know how to change diapers?

Well, every mom knows how to do that. But some moms don’t know what to keep in mind while changing diapers for their babies.

So let’s talk…

  1. Watch your baby to know when he or she is due for a diaper change. For the busy moms sometimes, they forget to change diapers until the diapers start leaking or they fall apart. This prolonged wear of full diapers could cause diaper rashes for your babies and even blisters. The blisters and rashes are not fun for your baby. So keep that in mind and change as frequent as you can. When you baby gets older you can even resort to panties or even nothing so that your baby can get some air down there. But keep a close eye on them so they don’t fall down when they pee nor do some other things we wouldn’t want them to do. You get my drift right?

  2. While changing your baby’s diaper, always monitor your baby’s private part. This is so that you know when something is not right, especially if you have helps that help you bathe your baby, or someone that helps you maintain your baby’s hygiene. Baby’s especially girls can also have infections at their age.

  3. Always remember to wipe your baby during a change. Some think because it is just pee, there is no need to wipe. You can use baby wipes or wash, if you think it is much more convenient for you. For the girls you should be careful to wipe from the front to back and not the other way round.

  4. Use protective creams. You may have to gamble with this if you have a baby with sensitive skin. I started with Sudocrem from birth; it was alright till I started noticing little rashes on my baby’s bum. I discontinued it and went natural. I melted Shea butter in the microwave till it was semi- liquid then I added olive oil to it, mixed it and allowed it to cool down. This is what I used during my nappy change till I used only Shea butter till date.

  5. Blue label Vaseline is awesome too. My mom swears by it.

  6. In case of blisters, which I experienced once because of my baby’s fever. I used fresh Aloe Vera Gel during his nappy change. Its healing power is amazing. It cleared his blisters like magic.

What do you use during your baby’s diaper or nappy change? Let me know in the comment section below.

I hope you learnt one of two things from this post.  Until next time …
