Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Goalkeeper)
Picked to replace Daniel Akpeyi, many Nigerians were not confident about the goalkeeper. The FC ifeanyiUbah man was however impressive in the calm and comfortable manner he guarded the Nigerian goal.
His fine moments, however, got to his head later and was guilty of some show boating. A fine display over all.
7/10
Shehu Abdullahi (right back)
With his right-back position still unsure, Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr picked Shehu Abdullai and the natural midfielder didn’t disappoint.
Apart from the opening minutes, Abdullahi defended well although he offered little in attack/.
5/10
Leon Balogun (Central defence)

Back in the team after missing the loss to South Africa in June, Balogun was fantastic in defence, partnering well with William Troost-Ekong to ensure a clean sheet for Nigeria.
Made some important sliding tackles in the area that were greeted with cheers and was also very tough in the air.
8/10
William Troost-Ekong (central defence)
Partnered well with Balogun to ensure a clean sheet for Nigeria and was also very physically ready for the Cameroonians.
6/10
Elderson Echiejile (left-back)
Remains the biggest suspect in the team and his performance on the day will not silence his critics who feel he does not offer anything to the Super Eagles.
Seems to be the weak point in Super Eagles defence and offered nothing going forward.
5/10
Ogenyi Onazi (defensive midfield)
Did what was required of him in the game and shielded the Super Eagles defence. Worked hard during the game but was always a suspect with the ball. Provided an assist.
7/10
Wilfred Ndidi (defensive midfield)
Quietly did his job against Cameroon, tackling and also with a good range of passing.
7/10
Mikel Obi (attacking midfield)
Tasked with creating and although there were few, he actually made an assist for the Super Eagles opening goal and brought composure to the team. Got tired quite early.
7/10
Moses Simon (wing)
Didn’t do much on the right-hand side of the Super Eagles attack except for a few runs behind the Cameroonian defence. Didn’t defend much either.
6/10
Victor Moses (wing)
Quiet in the first 20 minutes but was later the source of everything good about the Super Eagles in the first half. Had a goal disallowed, got an assist and later a goal and defended a lot.
8/10
Odion Ighalo (striker)
Back in the Super Eagles side, Ighalo was a threat all through the game, running and stretching the Cameroonian defence. Got the goal and was a menace all through before he got off injured. Gave everything.
8/10
Substitutes
Kelechi Iheanaco (striker)
Came in when Nigeria were already leading 3-0 but played his part by chasing down balls in the Cameroonian area and also got his goal.
4/10
Mikel Agu (midfielder)
Did his part when he came on and chased the ball well. Did little with the ball.
3/10
Ahmed Musa (wing)
The game already won when he was introduced.
2/10.
